Does Every ActiveEdge Garment Have Four-Way Stretch?

ActiveEdge supports the fabric and technical construction choices within F5. F5 is the framework for the whole garment: Fit, Function, Fabric, Feel and Fusion. ActiveEdge helps carry those decisions into the material and the way a piece is built.

The closest connection is Fabric, but it reaches further. Material affects how a garment sits, where it gives and how it feels against your skin. Those choices need to work together before a piece earns its place in your rotation.

That is the thinking behind LGLGFG Apparel. Look Good. Live Good. Feel Good. Clothing should make sense on the body and in the day you actually live.

What is the F5 Framework?

The F5 Framework is the standard used to consider each LGLGFG garment as a whole. Its five parts ask different questions about the same piece. Answering one well does not remove the need to answer the others.

Fit: how it sits and moves

Fit covers proportion, shape and room through the body. A relaxed tee and a tapered technical top should sit differently because they are designed to be worn differently.

Fabric influences that result. A material with more structure falls differently from a lighter stretch knit. ActiveEdge supports the material choice, while the cut and sizing still need to suit the intended silhouette.

Function: what it is there to do

Function starts with use. Does the piece need to layer cleanly? Does it need room for a longer stride? Where should the waistband sit, and what should the pockets carry?

Technical construction has value when it answers those questions. A feature list means little if the finished garment does not suit the way you plan to wear it.

Fabric: the material doing the work

This is the most direct link to ActiveEdge. Fibre blend, weight, stretch and construction all influence the character of a garment. Different pieces can use different combinations within the same system.

The Hybrid T | AE uses a cotton-polyester blend with a straight, structured fit. The Axion T | AE is described with a polyester-elastane build and a tapered torso. Both sit within the AE range, with different material choices and shapes.

Feel: the experience of wearing it

Feel includes the first touch, but it carries on once you get dressed. Weight, surface texture, seams, cut and room all influence how a piece wears through the day.

More stretch is not automatically a better feel for every purpose. Sometimes you want structure. Sometimes you want a lighter layer. The right choice depends on what feels comfortable to you and what the garment needs to do.

Fusion: how the decisions come together

Fusion is the finished relationship between the other four. The fabric needs to suit the fit. Construction needs to support the function. The overall piece still needs to feel right.

You notice a poor combination quickly: a material that fights the cut, or a waistband that changes how the whole garment sits. F5 keeps the focus on the complete piece rather than one impressive detail.

Does F5 mean every garment has every ActiveEdge feature?

No. F5 is a framework, and ActiveEdge is a fabric and construction system. Neither name means every garment has an identical set of technical features.

The Aegis Shorts | AE description specifies polyester-spandex with four-way give. That information belongs to those shorts. It should not be transferred to every tee, hoodie or set in the store.

Our guide to four-way stretch in ActiveEdge garments explains what to look for when multidirectional movement matters.

Use F5 to choose your next piece

Start with your day, then work through the garment. Check the shape you like, the use you have in mind, the fabric listed and the details that affect comfort. Finally, ask whether those things make sense together.

Compare pieces in the AE Tech collection or browse men's T-shirts by silhouette. The product page should guide the final decision, including composition, fit and care.

For another practical example, Box Cut vs Technical T-Shirt looks at how fabric and shape change what a tee brings to your rotation. Read Clothes Built for Movement, Worn All Day for the wider approach.

F5 gives the decisions a structure. ActiveEdge supports the material and construction. The result has to work when you put it on.
